Vodafone Connected Communities

Connected Communities is an initiative of the Government of Ireland, in partnership with Vodafone. It is the national communications name of the Broadband Connection Points (BCP) programme enabled by National Broadband Ireland, which will connect circa. 300 centres and locations across rural Ireland to give them access to high-speed broadband services.

What's involved

Within the website, you can connect with other broadband officers and managers around the country in the Discussion Forum, stay up to date with national and local news, and access free resources like posters and banners in the Marketing Materials section.

As well as having a library of assets that the users can download and print, there is a custom asset ordering system and request system with an online store style process custom made for the officers to order professionally printed materials to their door in a few easy steps.

The Process

The user research stages of this project were already undertaken before I started looking at it. So my first step within this process was familiarising myself with the project as well as any research materials that had been created.

Then I could move on to the wireframe stage. Which involved working out the user journeys for each function throughout the site as well as their interaction with the asset library area as it had the majority of the custom features within it.

Once the wireframes were finalised with the client and fully worked out from a user experience point of view, it was time to further develop them in terms of the visual design and bring them into the brand world of Vodafone as well as linking in with the Government of Ireland.

Here you will see just a few of the pages designed to give an idea of the overall look and feel
